Fire Marshall's Office
The St. Clair Fire Protection Districe Currently uses the 2003 edition of the International Building Code for new construction as well as existing structures.
Permits are required for the following: new construction, remodel work with an overall cost above $1000.00, demolition of a structure, and placement of a manufactured home(mobile home).
Permits and two(2) sets of developmental plans are required for new subdivisions.
New Construction plans are generally reviewed and returned to the permit holder within five(5) business days.
Three(3) inspections are required for new construction and remodel jobs:
- Rough- in is required before wall covering(drywall) is installed.
- Drywall insqection is required before taping and mudding can take place.
- Final inspection is required before occupying the structure.
A final inspection is required on manufactured homes before occupying the home.
